The 2023 BIC Portfolio Thesis Defense on Tuesday, May 30th is officially OVER.

More than 15 TOP PROS came to campus and gave the

SEAL of APPROVAL to all 22 BIC portfolios.

The BIC Class of 2023 is now officially graduated -- and ready to

shape the future of the communications industry.

 

I'm excited to share this moment with links to their portfolios and to

introduce the BIC Class of 2023.

 

Thanks for supporting BIC, the Master's degree program in Branding + Integrated Communications at The City College of New York:

MEET THE BICsters

22 in 23

After two years in BIC's 36-credit interdisciplinary master's program, students not only earn a graduate degree, but create portfolios that showcase discipline depth in an integrated framework. This year, we celebrate 22 portfolios in the areas of ART DIRECTION, COPYWRITING, BRAND MANAGEMENT,  STRATEGY, MEDIA PLANNING, and PUBLIC RELATIONS.

 

22 students from all across the globe, including Dubai, Peru, and Venezuela as well as more exotic places such as Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhattan's Upper Westside.


BICsters from the Class of 2023 have received degrees from illustrious universities --  from City College to Hunter and from Sarah Lawrence to Vassar College. As undergrads, they've studied a range of disciplines including nutrition & food science, cinema studies, English literature, graphic design, printmaking, and nursing. They've won ONE Show Pencils and Merits, TLF Fellowships, a DezMax and CCNY Graduate Symposium scholarship.

Dear Recruiters, Talent Seekers, and Career Catalysts

Welcome back to campus for our 7th Annual BIC PiP! Over the next few hours, you’ll tap into the agile thinking, sharp skills, and dynamic personalities of 22 cross-disciplinary BIC students, the Class of 2022, who have broad-based skills and specialization depth in strategy, public relations, art direction, copywriting, brand management, and content creation.

 

No other academic program has the chutzpah to give recruiters a sneak peek at portfolios in progress. This allows you to cultivate talent before the portfolios hit the market. Later in June, you’ll be able to assess how BICsters put your advice into action >>  Big BIC BONUS: participants in today’s PiP will be the FIRST to get links to their finished portfolios.

 

As the only master’s degree program to teach branding and communications in an integrated way,

BIC students learn in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. The program is portfolio-driven, which means that ALL students (not just art directors and writers, but managers, strategists, media planners, and public relations practitioners) must create and defend a portfolio to professionals in order to graduate. BICsters spend two years on portfolio development as they elevate class projects and repackage work through the lens of their discipline. Most of our full-time students not only attend BIC classes on campus in the evening, but they’re working professionals, super motived, and mature. BICsters have undergraduate degrees at schools such as Yale, RISD, Dartmouth, Hunter, Cornell, Wesleyan, and Lehigh. During their time in the program, BICsters have won MAIPs, LAGRANTs, GOLD Pencils at The ONE Show, and so much more. 

 

Where do BICsters take their talents? Our grads are at communications agencies such as Droga5, Fenton, TBWA\Chiat\Day, Weber Shandwick, HunterPR, FutureBrand, and Mother as well as companies such as Apple, NYTimes Brand Studio, TikTok, AmEx, Facebook, Google, and the NAACP.
